You Can Tell By The Way I Use My Walk ...

Lenny's Pizza on 86th Street In Bensonhurst Brooklyn closed its doors for good this February 19, 2023.

The pizzeria gained it's fame when it was in Saturday Night Fever in 1977. In the movie, John Travolta orders 2 slices of pizza. He puts one slice on top of the other and then proceeds to eat them like anyone from New York would eat a single regular slice. Lenny's Pizza began to sell two slices in this fashion irl and called it "The Manero" after Travolta's character.

At the time, 86th Street was famous for the trestle (I know it's an elevated train or "an el", but we Brooklynites call it a trestle and that's what it is lol ), guido's driving slowly down the street listening to loud music "cruisin' down 86th street" , and it's blocks and blocks of Italian storefronts.

I did decide to mix two scenes from the movie together but Tony Manero is famous for that white suit and ♫♫♫ dancing.. yeah ♫♫♫

Anyway this is my dedication to the end of an era, the closing of a landmark after serving customers since 1953
