Half the Day Is the Night - Gabor Szabo

Gábor Szabó was a great Hungarian jazz guitarist, little known outside his native country. One reason could be that his musical career developed at a time when the international music scene was dominated by Anglo-Saxon music. Being a guitarist and composer from the other side of the Iron Curtain didn't help either. When the Soviet invasion of Hungary took place, Szabó left his country. But possibly the main reason for his lack of recognition was his limited discography. Sadly, Szabó died very young, at the age of 45 in his native Budapest.
