Geese (Question in description)

I’m still getting to know my camera and all the aspects so I was having a hard time getting the photo to actually take. I literally had to stand in the shade to get this photo not to come out completely white by the sun. I couldn’t change the ISO on the settings it was on. Any advice on this issue?
