Go on shake a Horse Chestnut tree, a conker tree that is, pick up the fallen spiky pods, open them up, check the conker inside is a suitable size! ... I used a micrometer, although a ruler would do.

At home with your best newly measured seeds or should I say conkers it's time for the magic to happen .... secret tricks .... vinegar soaking, whatever potions that will harden your conkers up .... then dry them off ..... drill .... insert an 8 inch string.

You are now ready for a match .....

Get your friends around .....

.... it's Game On!!!!

 

PS. Open the pods carefully, be cautious as they are extremely spiky.

It's a great old school traditional game, the game of conkers, I expect most people have played sometime in their childhood!

Or demonstrated the skills needed to their own children.
