01. Modified LEGO points (switches) [P1000426]

Here are a pair of modified right-hand switches, with the 2nd-half of the "S" curve removed and the connector-end-section (1x8) glued back on. So, a single section of LEGO Flex track inserted between the two now makes up the perfect distance for a crossover, to separate the two lines by the standard 8-studs-between-sleepers (ties).

 

Alternatively, the curve I've left remaining on the switch is 33.75° (or 1.5 pieces of R40), so I can use a section of ME Models R88 or R104 to bring it up to 45°, or down to 22.5°. It was the most future-proof and option-friendly way of modifying the switches I could think of.
