GWR 5700 tank v01-05 (three-quarter view)
Having worked on the revised 8750 series pannier, I thought I would try and edit my model to the earlier original 5700 series loco. The main difference is in the cab; the front handrail is inside the cab access opening, requiring a redesign of the lower front of the cab. Also, there is a lovely curve to the rear of the cab access point back to the coal bunker, and the bunker itself is more simply (on the prototype) joined to the cab. More complex to model though, and I feel my interpretation leaves a few too many gaps and niggly inadequacies.
Also, the front of the cab has round 'spectacle' windows rather than largely square ones on the 8750. The next pic will illustrate this - a 1x1 trans round tile is the closest I could get, and to my eye looks fairly poor.
