Berrie

Berrie is a diminutive of Albert or Alberta, derived from the Old High German terms adal and beraht, translating to “noble” and “bright” respectively. It also comes from byrig in Old English. Signifying “a fortified place,” it was a surname given to a resident or employee of a manor house.
