On the back of a reasonably promising early evening forecast from the weather clowns, I tripped off to the Blea Moor area for the loco hauled passengers, only to discover that the 17.58 Appleby - Skipton and subsequent ECS return weren't running. If I'd had the sense to check RTT before leaving home, I'd have discovered that they weren't even on the list! Lesson learned for the future, but as the saying goes, there's no fool like an old fool.
A consolation shot finally came in the form of 66723 'ZA723 Chinook', passing over the B6255 at Ribblehead with the 19.30 Clitheroe - Carlisle N.Y. cements, running about 70 mins early. This was very much a last second grab shot, after the cloud had got the better of me at Selside.
