Das ehemalige Rathaus von Medemblik wurde 1940 nach einem Entwurf des Architekten A. J. Kropholler erbaut. Der Baustil ist sehr traditionell und zeichnet sich durch die massive Backsteinoptik aus. Der Kontrast zur nahe gelegenen Pumpstation Lely, die vor mehr als zehn Jahren fertiggestellt wurde, könnte kaum größer sein.
Die Skulpturen in der Fassade und auf der Plattform sind Schöpfungen von John Rädecker, bekannt für seinen Beitrag zum Nationaldenkmal auf dem Dam-Platz in Amsterdam.
The former town hall of Medemblik was built in 1940 to a design by architect A.J. Kropholler. The architectural style is very traditional and is characterized by the solid brick look. The contrast with the nearby Lely pumping station, which was completed more than ten years ago, could hardly be greater.
The sculptures in the façade and on the platform are creations by John Rädecker, known for his contribution to the national monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam.
