Smarter than the average bear.
The last time I saw seven class 14s together was on 21 February 1987 when I paid a final visit to NCB Ashington.
They were all stored by then, with D9500/02/13/18/21/25/31/55 in and around the shed, with much of the track lifted.
Apart from the ex Ashington D9525, all of the 14s at the 14s@60 event were preserved by February 1987, but it was great to see them all working again at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway yesterday.
