PV-130 Orca
This aircraft is designed as a troop and cargo transport for densely populated cities where most "airports" are located on rooftops. Necessitating STOVL or VTOL aircraft. The rotating nacelles developed from the V-22 Osprey fill this role perfectly. Allowing for short or completely vertical takeoff, while still employing a conventional wing surface for more efficient long distance flights. Further pushing efficiency, this aircraft is entirely electric, using the wing as a massive battery bank.
The PV-130 is often used as a riot insertion vehicle, able to deploy a full squad of officers with a spider tank dangling below. For such cases the Orca is also equipped with cannons to neutralize or control crowds. The completely armored cockpit keeps the pilots extremely well protected. Entirely avoiding the potentially unfortunate instance of a multi million dollar vehicle being grounded and destroyed by a stray bullet.
This model was designed several months ago before the attack helicopter featured on Brickvault. (Thank you very much for doing that by the way!) It was a fun project, probably still one of my favorites. It was a revival of a project I did a year before when I first crawled out of my dark ages. It kinda marks a year of progress for me so it's probably going to stay pretty high on my list of favorite projects.
Starting with the sensor package up front, which was a surprisingly complex assembly, but immensely satisfying to figure out. From there it was the cockpit. Kicking off the completely opaque cockpits that are going to be sticking around for every one of my cyberpunk builds going forward. From there it was jumping around from one part of the build to another until it was complete. In the end this model has, retractable landing gear, a full interior, rotating engine nacelles, spinning rotors and an opening rear door.
