Guanica Lighthouse Ruins
The lighthouse of Guánica is located on a cliff at the entrance to the bay of Guánica, on the PR-333 road. It was built in 1892 to light the entrance to the port and functioned as an intermediate lighthouse between Cabo Rojo and Caja de Muertos. It was from the same that the ships of the American squadron that entered the Island on July 25, 1898 during the Spanish-American War were spotted.
The lighthouse is of the sixth order and illuminated the harbor with a white light visible 8 miles away. Its structure consisted of a rectangular building, in the neoclassical style, with an octagonal tower in the center measuring 33 feet. The upper part of the tower was surrounded by a wrought-iron balustrade and the façade was covered with gray stucco.
Currently, the lighthouse is not operational. It is in a state of deterioration. However, some of its elements are still preserved, as are the ausubo beams, the white and gray marble slabs, some parts of the kitchen, the window frames, a cistern and a well.

El faro de Guánica está ubicado en un acantilado a la entrada de la bahía de Guánica, en la carretera PR-333. Se construyó en 1892 para alumbrar la entrada al puerto y funcionaba como un faro intermedio entre el de Cabo Rojo y el de Caja de Muertos. Fue desde el mismo que se divisaron los barcos de la escuadra estadounidense que entraron en la Isla el 25 de julio de 1898 durante la Guerra Hispanoamericana.
El faro es de sexto orden e iluminaba el puerto con una luz blanca visible a 8 millas de distancia. Su estructura consistía de un edificio rectangular, al estilo neoclásico, con una torre octagonal en el centro que mide 33 pies. La parte superior de la torre estaba rodeada por una balaustrada de hierro forjado y la fachada estaba cubierta por estucado gris.
En la actualidad, el faro no está en funcionamiento. Se encuentra en estado de deterioro. Sin embargo, algunos de sus elementos aún se conservan, como lo son las vigas de ausubo, las losas de mármol blanco y gris, algunas partes de la cocina, los marcos de las ventanas, una cisterna y un pozo.
