Listen Carefully, Grasshopper!
A red-tailed hawk is either preparing to make a point, or scratching an itch. This was a very unusual hawk, which allowed me to take this shot from about 30 feet after stepping out of my car. It seemed very relaxed as it performed it's preening duties. I then saw it again about another mile down the road with the same behavior.
