An Old Friend
This is the headstock of my Martin D-15. I bought it used back in the nineties and used to play it all the time. It's made entirely out of mahogany and has a very mellow sound. Then I bought a Taylor guitar that has become my workhorse for the past ten years or more. The Taylor is in the repair shop now, so it's back to the Martin for a while.
I've been to the CF Martin Guitar Factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, and it was one of the coolest tours I've ever been on. As you can see, in this photograph, they've been making guitars since 1833. The current chairman and CEO, C.F. 'Chris' Martin IV, is the great-great-great-grandson of the founder.
