The Lego Batman Movie Review!
Alright so I've now seen The Lego Batman Movie. And I really liked it, not as much as The Lego Movie, but I still really liked it.
Now I thought the animation was flawless obviously. I love the style of animation The Lego Movie had created and is now in the following films of this universe.
The voice acting in this film I thought was pretty good too, stand out by far is Will Arnett as Batman. I also thought Michael Cera did a great job as Robin, with his voice it really gave the character more emotion as a young orphan, who looks up to Batman and then becomes Batman's ward. Then Zach Galifianakis did a good job as The Joker, but his voice wasn't like menacing or anything, like The Joker's voice should be.
Now definitely favorite part of the movie was it's Easter eggs and it's humor. This movie is filled to the brim of Easter eggs and references about Batman's history dating all the way back to the 1940's and it's great and much more. I thought the humor throughout the movie was great too, but that's where a flaw is, people are saying there's too much jokes and it's hard to miss some, and I agree with most of it.
The movie is wildly fast paced especially in the first half, because the second half slows down quite a bit there, and it is hard to catch all the references and jokes. Not all of them but a few.
And my last gripe about the movie was the lack of villains in the spot light. What I mean by that is, The Joker is the main villain of the whole movie and really the only villain. I'm not getting into any spoilers but, I wish they would have had like The Riddler and The Penguin and others be more of the main villains, plural, than just The Joker. Because The Riddler and all them are barely in the movie, which was kind of disappointing seeing the Lego sets they were in.
But all in all I had a great time with this movie and can't wait to get it on bluray and can't wait to see the next films in this universe because I've really enjoyed the first two. So with that said, I'm gonna give The Lego Batman Movie a B+!
