La La Land Movie Review

So this evening I went and saw La La Land. Now this movie was a pain in my ass to go see, because it had a limited theatre release. But I finally got to see it and boy was a glad.

 

So first off, along with what Ant-Man said, I don't like musicals. There are a few I like, such as Mary Poppins, but the overall genre, is not my cup of tea. But this musical was very good.

 

Since this film is a musical, it has songs throughout it, and what makes a musical good is if the songs are good... and these are songs were good. Besides the fact that they were good, they made sense, they didn't just bust out and sing and dance out of no where all the time.

 

Another great thing about this movie, were the visuals. It had a ton of great, vibrant, colors that were fun to watch.

 

Now let's talk about the performances. The two main leads of the film are Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, and they both did a great job. Ryan Gosling is my favorite actor and this is now two great films from him this year, along with The Nice Guys.

 

I have very few complaints with this film, but the one big one is the ending. I'm not gonna get into any spoilers, but I wish the ending played out differently.

 

This film is getting a lot of Oscar buzz and I see why, so I'm going to give La La Land an A-!
