Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events Review!
I finished Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events last week, but I just gotten around to reviewing it, so sorry about that.
So first of all, I'm so glad they turned this book series into a Netflix show, instead of the one film, starring Jim Carrey. Also, I can't criticize the show if it's not book accurate, because I read these books back in 3rd grade and don't remember everything that happened.
One of my favorite things about this show is the artistic direction. It's a beautiful show to watch, the shots, the colors, the placement, everything, it reminds me of a Wes Anderson film, but without a orange tint to it.
Also, the performances are great everyone is very good in the show, especially the two main kids, Violent and Klaus played by Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes, and Count Olaf played by Neil Patrick Harris.
The show has a weird kinda cartoony feel to it too, which isn't a bad thing, just something to note, like CGI in it isn't very good, but it works and I kinda really like it.
Lastly, the show has very good writing. It is very sophisticated, but still will appeal to kids through adults. It also is pretty funny, which is nice to balance out the show.
Netflix is becoming one of the best platforms for entertainment with all its Marvel shows, Stranger Things, now this, so I give Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events an A+!
I had a great time watching this show, what did you guys think about it if you've seen it? And if not you should definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
