Manchester by the Sea Movie Review
So this afternoon I went and saw Manchester by the Sea. Now I've heard nothing but great things about this movie, so let's see what I thought of it.
Overall, I really liked this film. It's pretty depressing, but touching at the same time.
The main lead of this movie Casey Affleck, is phenomenal. He does such a fantastic job as the unlikable, but likable character that I really enjoyed watching. I would not be surprised at all if he won or at the very least got nominated for Best Actor. The supporting cast I thought did a very good job as well, especially Lee's, Casey Affleck, nephew.
Besides all the depressing topics in the film, I really liked how they put in light hearted moments and funny lines and jokes.
My second favorite thing about this movie, after Casey Affleck's performance, is the cinematography. This movie is very nice to look at. The shots are great and the repeating shots, I thought were very cool too.
So if you haven't seen this film yet and you want to catch up on all the Oscar type films, I'd definitely give this one a go. It's pretty sad, but that doesn't take away from the film at all. So I give Manchester by the Sea an A!
