Doctor Strange Movie Review!
So tonight I watched Doctor Strange and I overall enjoyed it.
What I think the best part of the film was, were the visuals and the performances. I thought the visuals were outstanding, with the bending of buildings, reality, time, etc.
Benedict Cumberbatch is one of my favorite actors working today and he did a fantastic job in this movie as Doctor Steven Strange. I also thought the supporting cast was great to especially Tilda Swinton. Besides Benedict Cumberbatch's performance, I thought he looked great as Doctor Strange.
I honestly know nothing about the Doctor Strange comics, so I can't criticize the film on its story, but as stand alone film I thought the story was good.
My biggest complaint with the film was the villain. I thought they were very underwhelming and weren't menacing enough. *SPOILER* and I thought Dormammu's look in the film sucked. He was kinda like Galactus from the Fantastic Four films, not a space cloud, but he didn't look anything like what he looks like in the comics and I thought he was too big.
Another pet peeve of mine is the Marvel humor. Some of the jokes are funny, especially the first half of the film, but they continued on and then got very tiresome. I just don't like it when heroes and villains are cracking jokes in the middle of a battle.
And this has nothing to do with the film, but the new Marvel Studios logo intro isn't good. They should have just kept the original comic flip intro.
I would say something about the mid and post credit scenes, but I missed the post credit scene thinking it was over because they had a mid credit scene. Silly me, I guess I gotta go watch the movie again!
So over all I did enjoy this film. It's in my top 10 favorite MCU films now, but it has its flaws. So I give Doctor Strange a B.
