Suicide Squad Movie Review
About time I saw this film. Sorry guys about my sluggishness for seeing this movie and getting a review out for it. I've just been really busy the past few weeks, getting back from vacation and other things.
Anyways on with the review. So tonight I finally saw Suicide Squad and left the theatre, confused on why the movie was getting so much hate, with bad reviews and articles/videos ton why the DCEU is failing. Because I had a good time with this movie! Now by all means it not perfect, not even close, but I enjoyed it for what it was. This movie was my third most anticipated movie for 2016, after BvS and Civil War and on that note, I was of course a little disappointed.
The performances from Will Smith and Margot Robbie as Deadshot and Harley Quinn were freaking great! I thought both of them and the rest of the Suicide Squad's performances were good. Captain Boomerang was pretty good, Killer Croc was good, and El Diablo I thought was good too. Now Jared Leto's Joker, I think is good. I like the psycho, mob boss, type Joker he plays. I still have hope for what he can give us in future films he will be in and think his performance in this movie was fine. Now I still don't like his laugh. From the first trailer he was in I didn't like it. And lastly the stand out performances I'm talking about, Ben Affleck's Batman is still great.
Now one thing I haven't heard in any reviews I've seen/read is the soundtrack. I don't know if it's just because I like the genre of music the majority of it is or what, but I thought the soundtrack was great!
Some complaints I've heard is that the films editing is really choppy. Which I agree on in multiple scenes, the editing is very choppy and sometimes hard to follow what's going on especially during some fight sequences. And another is the villain. I thought the villain was pretty bad. I know this movie is trying to be small scale like, Ant-Man, and they got that down, but they could've easily made the villain much better than she was (and no saying "she" isn't a spoiler and if it was I'm really late on this review and you should've seen the movie by now)...
So over all I had a good time with this movie and definitely going to see it again because it was fun! Not a perfect movie, but a good one at least to me. So I give Suicide Squad a B!
