And here we are: the makings of many salads

The lettuces in the planters are getting big -- I've been eating them every day. Besides the Swiss chard, tomato and malabar, this enclosure contains lettuces, arugula, French mache, parsley, red and green peppers, cabbage behind the chard, some different Asian greens, cilantro, lemon basil, eggplant, broccoli. Marigolds are planted among all the plants to repel nematodes -- they're supposed to be a beneficial companion planting. This has grown quite a bit in the several weeks since the photo was shot.
