Casa Batllo detail, by Gaudi, Barcelona, Spain
This is a detail of a set of lower windows on the second floor of the building. (In Spain and Europe, the second floor is the first floor. What we call the first floor in the US is called Floor Zero in Spain, Italy, and France.)
Note the use of curved concrete in natural flowing curves, lots of stained glass, wrought iron in natural curves, and mosaic tiles stuck on the outside of the bulding, often in random looking, but natural patterns that might represent some type of leaves or vines. Gaudi is one of the most famous Modern style architects, although some call the style Art Noveau.
