Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), Florence Italy

We left the Uffizi Museum and found this view of the Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence, (Firenze) Italy. The bridge has been taken over by jewelry dealers who occupy little shops on the bridge and sell some of the most elaborate and expensive jewelry I've ever seen anywhere. The windows of the shops make Tiffany's look poor by comparison as these windows are filled to overflowing with large jewels, gold, and other precious jewelry. This bridge is one of 5 you can see in the foreground and I think there is one back behind me. The jewel tones were not just in the jewelry. The pastel colors of the buildings, the roofs, the sapphire tone of the river contrasted with the emerald green on the near bank were breath-taking.
