The Mediterranean from a small village named Le Carro France, near Marseille

We left Arles, France and wandered down backroads through the Camargue section of France. The Camargue is the delta swampy plains of the Rhone river and has wild bulls, wild white horses, and pink flamingos. After taking a ferry across the Rhone, we drove along the Med and found this beach at a small village called Le Carro. The beach had wind surfers taking the waves, but no one was swimming or sunbathing as it was cold and windy. The Med is unbelievably dark blue and we were amazed everytime we saw it as it does not look real. This is an HDR taken with three bracketed shots using a boulder on the beach as a tripod. Photomatix dealt well with the waves and yielded a composite picture that shows the reason for using Photomatix.
