The Frozen Plateau
Under an almost ghostly light, a strong cold wind surrounds the frozen Nivolet plateau, Gran Paradiso National Park (Italy).
From left to right you can see: Gran Paradiso, Tresenta, Ciarforon, Becca del Monciair, Denti del Broglio, Grand Etret.
On the foreground the lake Rosset (2.709 m) slowly thawing.
Generally I hate to use the wide angle, especially in the mountains because it destroys the verticality of the peaks, nevertheless just paying some attention it is possible to bring home a few shots that make sense.
Here, more than anything else, I wanted to capture the sense of stasis, immobility, of such an immense landscape nailed for months under the ice.
