Mont Blanc on Fire
Shot taken on September 13th 2012, from the shores of the lovely alpine lake Cheserys (2.211 m), high up in the Aiguilles Rouges above the Chamonix valley.
Since I am not looking exclusively for perfect mirror reflections in the alpine lakes, but for any kind of fascinating natural phenomenon, here's a pretty dynamic view of the Mont Blanc massif slapped by the winds at sunset.
Generally the evening is the time when the wind may eventually rage a lot, before settling down (hopefully) during the night. With all due exceptions.
Here, on the left you can see the Aiguille Verte and Les Drus all surrounded by clouds moving very quickly. In the central area we have the various summits of the Grandes Jorasses along with the Dent du Géant, while on the right it's possible to see part of the Aiguilles de Chamonix.
All cherished by a delicate alpenglow.
