The Sword in the Stone
Photo taken at the Nivolet (2.612 m) on June 13th 2012, about three hours before moonrise, exploiting the scenic presence of some huge stone walls which are firmly counterpointing with the magical presence of our lovely Milky Way cutting the dark night sky.
These walls, as usual, were catching distant lights coming from lake Agnel (a dam few hundred meters below).
In due time I will post also other photos with this Milky Way over some snowy mountains of the Gran Paradiso National Park, although I tend to prefer compositions kept as minimal as possible, like this one. It's obviously a matter of personal taste...
Anyhow, in addition to the constant search of well-defined classic shapes, of course I understand how much it's also important to show the grandeur of the natural environment... although the most spectacular breathtaking scenery is always just above our heads :-)
