One With The Universe
In today's society there is much ease of "communication" as much as authentic dialogue is lacking.
Tons of words, sometimes (deliberately) contradictory information, a "pinch" of alarmism in all things, to keep the mass obedient, silent and separate, and so on... this is the future that lies ahead.
It is therefore appropriate to take a step aside and seek a synthesis, the “reductio ad unum” of one's being on this Earth.
Photography can also be useful in making the point of the situation.
Unlike a video, which has many frames per second, photography pushes the author to a more rare conciseness, with continuous choices, not only technical (of settings, like: lens, exposure, aperture, ISO) or stylistic (of composition), rather than as mere synthesis: “How can I describe my journey, physical and emotional, in a single shot?”.
Therefore, we yearn to fix an emotion and a motivation in a single image, to also discover something about our hidden self, which photography may perhaps reveal to us.
In my case, why do I go to the mountains?
To train? For leisure? To conquer? To prove something to me or to others?... None of this, the answer is in this self-timer shot.
