Monviso West Face
Monviso, west side, photographed at night.
From left to right: Visolotto (3,348 m), Monviso summit (3,841 m), Viso di Vallanta (3,781 m).
Above you can see part of the arc of the Milky Way and below, obviously, my tent.
This is perhaps the least known face of the Monviso. As its classic iconic shape is the purely pyramidal one, appreciable from all the other sides.
This west side, in my opinion, has something more majestic and rugged, which definitely makes this mountain deserve its local nickname of "King of the Cottian Alps" or "King of stone".
In any case, from all its sides, a great mountain!
I'm about to open a YouTube channel, and then I'll post a few videos of my trekkings in this beautiful alpine area, along with other stunning places I am regularry visiting since years now.
