Inside a Bubble of Silence

The cold, the silence and the hushed atmospheres, indeed are prerogatives of the winter season. A season that, objectively, poses to the explorer a few additional challenges in reaching certain alpine areas... on the other hand winter allows to fully enjoy the scenery under atmospheres sometimes completely estranged, unthinkably different, if compared to what we commonly consider as "normal".

This is the summit of Mount Sapei (1.625 m), Susa Valley (Italy), totally snow-covered and wrapped in a thick evening fog on January 2014.

Generally, in the distance it's possible to admire the southern ridge of Mount Civrari, but that day the visibility was limited only to a few meters... it felt like being inside a bubble of water... a bubble of silence.

Well, I gladly pay the price of a almost zero visibility when what appears is so poetic :-)
