It had been a couple months since the fighting between the rebels and the Indonesian government had broken out, but it had been contained to small villages and jungle warfare. This fateful morning, that all changed. At 2:11 p.m. an armored bank truck pulled up in front of the Indonesian Government Offices. Four minutes later, the truck, filled with explosives, detonated, sending the building to smithereens and killing over 450 people. On the outskirts of the city, some 10,000 rebels began making their push inward to choke out the regime. Backed by NATO, the rebels were better prepared than they ever had been before, but with the governments funding from the Eurasians, both sides were well equipped to drag this small insurgency into an all out war. Southeast Asia was about to go up into flames.
