This was the view from my bedroom window as a teenager and an incredible array of traction passed by over the years. Unfortunately trees masked the opportunity to take good pictures and in the summer the railway was virtually hidden.
The regular run of pulverised fly ash from Drakelow Power Station to a processing plant at the nearby Hams Hall Power Station would throw up varied motive power, particularly as the Presflos used were vacuum braked only.
Although shown in the WTT as Mon to Fri only, an additional would run virtually every Saturday and is seen on the return empty working - the 6D53 from Hams Hall. 21/1/84
