46010 nr Birmingham Curve Jn

This was the view from my bedroom as a teenager and an incredible array of traction passed by my window over the years. Unfortunately trees masked the opportunity to take good pictures and in the summer the railway was virtually hidden.

The regular run of pulverised fly ash from Drakelow Power Station to a processing plant at the nearby Hams Hall Power Station would throw up varied motive power, particularly as the Presflos used were vacuum braked only. 46010 is seen on the return empty working - the 6D53 from Hams Hall. 9/3/84
