Although Skippers had by now started to take over on some of the Gunnislake branch services, some workings remained in the hands of first generation DMU’s, particularly as excessive flange wear and adhesion problems beset the 142s.
142022 had worked earlier trains giving the opportunity to ride the branch in both generations on this day and a friend and I cycled out to the viaduct to capture this view. 31/7/87
