87006 at Lichfield Trent Valley

An experimental large logo livery as worn by 87006 as it heads towards Euston. I believe this was done to commemorate the introduction of 110 mph Class 87 operations on the WCML in the May 84 timetable change. This was possible after development work on the BR - Brecknell Willis pantograph's aerofoils, allowing them to run at higher speeds. 1/6/84
