D306 runs round at the Peterborough end of the line, sporting small yellow ends and nose ladders.
I’d been wanting all summer to do the loco hauled SO Birmingham- Yarmouth train and rumour had it that it would not be running in future years. Eventually after much objection from my then wife, I managed to get to Burton station, ticket in hand for its final day of operation. Much to my dismay I was too late and it ran as a Class 156. I decided to bail at Peterborough and instead take a trip behind a 40 and salvage something from the day! 25/9/93
