97203 at Derby RTC

Formerly 31298, 97203 became a departmental loco in 1986 and was later repainted into R&DD colours in March 1987. Here it’s seen just after coming out of the Engineering Test Hall at the RTC, fresh from its repaint and awaiting the application of lettering. It didn’t last long in traffic though as it suffered severe fire damage a month later.
