Home Depot Purse
Materials: Wire Mesh Gutter-Guard + Red 80 Grit Sandpaper + Metal Wiring + Clear Lacquer + Chain + Magnet
The purpose of this assignment was to go to Home Depot and in $15 or less create a feminine product. I used the gutter guard to create the shape and basic structure of the purse and to give it rigidity and strength. I used several layers of clear lacquer to retain the aesthetic quality of the sandpaper while removing the abrasiveness of the material. The magnet adds "purse-onality" to the product while also naturally working with the qualities of the metal wire mesh, allowing the product to functionally open and close.
