📌 WWII Hermann SC1000 Air Dropped Bomb, Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum, Flixton.
The Herman SC1000 was a World War Two German air-dropped general purpose, high explosive, thin cased bomb, containing over 1,000lb of amatol. It weighed over 1,000kg and was nick-named the ''Herman'' by the British during the German ''Blitz Bombing'' campaign of Great Britain. This was in reference to the portly commander of the German Air Force Herman Goring, whilst the 'SC' was the abbreviation of the German discription ''Sprengbombe Cylindrisch''.
This example was dropped near the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth, but failed to explode, and was displayed on the sea front for many years, it came to the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum in early February 2013.
