📌 WWII Anti-Tank Pimples, Icknield Way, Lackford [TL 7888 7077]

Revisited from 2014 www.flickr.com/photos/139375961@N08/shares/2u29QpE2R7 One of the pimples has been exposed and cleaned.

There are six Anti-Tank Pimples at this road junction as part of the Eastern Command Line defences. These pimples, were popularly known as ''Dragon's Teeth'' were pyramid-shaped concrete blocks designed specifically to counter tanks which, when attempting to traverse them, would climb up exposing the vulnerable under parts of the vehicle and possibly slip down with the tracks between the points. They vary in size and shape somewhat, but were typically 2ft high with approximately a 3ft diameter base, as with these ones they were also cast conical form.
