In my description of my work placements, I described my initial work experience in architecturural studies. The following year after my Junior Cert I began my Transition Year architectural studies module. Our first project involved designing a garden. My design as can be seen above favours a typical Mediterranean climate. The centre displays a gazebo where anyone can eat outdoors. The circle surrounding this is made entirely of glass. The numbers 1-4 are small glass sculptires that represent the primary times for a clock. You see, I wished for anyone in thos garden to know the time in a sort of modern design without the need to check their phone. The glass sculptures and the smaller circles around it are part of a modern clock and an led light lights up according to the appropriate time. In turn, at night the clock provides both light to the centre of the garden and the indication of that time. Under the gazebo, the whole analog and gears are stored. The 2 sumbols marked ||| are two water fountains which are part of the constantly circulated stream flowing under the gazebo to the symbol on the bottom right. Along the left side of the diagram, there is an entertainment area housing a TV ( grey rectangle ) covered by a roof and storage for seats and other items. Directoy in front the sort of l shaped shape is a contemporary couch designed for comfort and a bit of privacy. The couch and chairs also act as seating space in prder to view the brown circle. This brown circle is wooden and provides a space for musicians to give open air concerts. Being a musician myself, I thought that this would be a vital element. On top of the concert podium ther is a rectangle representing a modern shed. The top right is another area for comfort with sunbeds directly beside the river adding a tranquil atmsophere. Since the garden had to cater for people of all ages, I added a sand area for small children to play in.

In all, I really enjoyed this project.
