Swincombe Loop

A 7.29 mile walk around Fox Tor Mires to Swincombe. Lots of history in the farmhouses and a choice of river crossings - I used John Bishop's stepping stones. Back via a good stone track to the Water Intake works and then I followed the leat back to the mires. You should find and take the right hand side of the dry Wheal Emma Leat - I tried to go higher and got stuck in some awful tussocky ground with stream rivulets hidden underneath threatening to swallow my feet, before beating a retreat back to the leat. Magnificient views all the way - especially with the evening sun before it disappeared.
