Old Gas Station at Baxter Springs Kansas

The station was built in 1930 by the Independent Oil and Gas Company; the company merged with Phillips Petroleum the following year. The building now serves as the Kansas Route 66 Visitors Center. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 29, 2003.
