This curiosity with the unusual name is the best of a rundown area. It was built in 1904 with fine internal finishes by former mayor and then owner of an engineering firm, Thomas Deacon, but fell on hard times in about 2000, was boarded up, and demolition seemed imminent.
Today the Mayor's Mansion is a 10 unit apartment building with many units as small as 500 square feet.
