Laura Moser got my attention and support when the DCCC opened its mouth and said Moser was “too progressive” for the TX-7 seat in the House of Representatives. The so-called “Democratic” Congressional Campaign Committee is run by a gang of Democrats In Name Only that are backed and controlled by greedy corporations and the Military Industrial Complex that President Eisenhower warned us about. For the last two election cycles, the DCCC didn’t even bother to give Texas candidates for Congress any favorable words let alone campaign funds because they claimed Texas was a lost cause. Yeah, lost because of DCCC defeatists, so fuck ‘em. As soon as I got an email about the DCCC opposing Moser, I looked at her agenda, sent her a contribution, and voted for her. She was late getting to our convention because she had been at the March For Our Lives earlier Saturday morning. I like her spirit best, but if she doesn’t make the runoff in May, I’ll support Fletcher. Both are good candidates.
I will support ANYBODY to unseat that “tea party” fascist Culberson. He voted against federal funding to build the University and Uptown Light Rail Transit lines because he doesn’t want rail transit in “his” district. To please his Big Oil backers, he pushed for massive federal funding to widen Interstate 10, a highway project that was finished years behind schedule and billions over budget. Widening I-10 resulted in the removal of the MKT railroad that could have been rebuilt for Regional Commuter Rail service, the loss of thousands of big trees in the path of the highway, and the loss of dozens of local businesses alongside. Unlike the environmental review that precedes transit projects, there was no consultation with the public; we were simply TOLD the highway widening WILL happen. Culberson is also a CHICKENHAWK who supports an aggressive military posture to protect Big Oil, yet he was too cowardly to serve in the US Armed Forces, and he is a Climate Change denier.
I should also mention that I listened to the speeches of the two candidates for Texas Senate District 17 runoff election in May. Both Fran Wilson and Rita Lucindo sounded great and had good political agendas. Although I voted for Wilson in the March primary, I'll support whoever wins the runoff. We must get that RepUGLYcan bitch Joan Huffman out of office because she is a puppet for Dan Patrick and his bathroom bills and cuts to public education.
