How to get lost? Easy!

Erice is a medieval walled town perched on top of Mt. San Giuliano. The locals call their town 'u Munti, the mountain.

It is often shrouded in mist, known as il velo di Venere (the veil of Venus). The cobbled streets are often slippery. They are handsomely paved with a characteristic pattern of differently-sized shiny stones.

Streets were most likely paved in the late 19th century.

The church on the right is La Real Chiesa Matrice Insigne Collegiata, better known as Real Duomo or Duomo di Erice, 1314.
