Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois, choir

Church Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois, 1220-1300, porch 1420-1439, a lot of restoration in 1500-1570 and 18C.

The interior of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois church suffered greatly from the "deplorable additions and restorations that took place during the reign of Louis XIV".

The choir is the oldest part of the church, even though it bears testimony — notably the grooves on the pillars — of the work that took place in the 18C. Longer than the nave, it has long barrel vaults and tall two- or three-part lancet windows, the longest ones in the building. The building has retained only a portion of its 16C stained glass windows. . These are from the 19C.
