All New Jen and Mystic, Issue 3 "Fearful"

SCENE ONE, Cassie's Nightmare

Cassie went to sleep a bit after the last issue... In her dream, she was in a dark, vast hallway... She looked down, and saw she was wearing her old costume...

 

Mystic: Huh... This brings back memories.

 

She hears a crash, she jolts around to see Bat-Boy and Voltage chasing her!

 

Bat-Boy: No where to run, Mystic!

 

Mystic keeps running, and the world shifts into a park at night... She turns around again, to see Voltage take off his mask and reveal his old "Zapper Mask", and Bat-Boy suddenly wearing a more tactical version of his old look. Mystic then see's herself in her regular clothes fly above her, but their face shifts into the face of The Prank Caller!!!

 

Prank Caller Cassie: Ha ha ha ha!!!!!!

 

Mystic: Aghh!!!

 

Mystic gets cornered, as all of her living villains surround her!

 

Beefcake: You're dead, freak!

 

The Prank Caller Cassie keeps laughing, to which Mystic turns around and sees a metal hand come out of the Prank Caller's mouth, and pull her in! All Mystic see's is darkness...

 

Mystic, shaking: H-H-Hello?

 

Harm Arms walks from the darkness...

 

Harm Arms: Why did you let me die?

 

Cassie covers her mouth as her eyes widen in shock, she's dripping in sweat...

 

Mystic: I-...I'm sorry...

 

Harm Arms: WHY?!!!!!!!!! WHY DID YOU LET ME DIE?!?!?!! WHY!!!!?!??????

 

Cassie wakes up...

 

Cassie: *gasp*!... Gah... huh... uh.... uh...

 

Jen sits on the couch, watching TV, but turns her head to Cassie...

 

Jen: What's wrong, Case?

 

Cassie: Ach, oh nothing... Just a nightmare I had...

 

Jen: Well maybe some TV might help, bestie.

 

Cassie's eyes widen again...

 

Cassie: W-What did you just call me?

 

Jens eyes blink, then open again, becoming red, and filled with blood, dripping... Cassie pinches herself, but feels nothing.

 

Cassie: Oh god oh god oh god...

 

Jens arms shift into metal, which jolt towards Cassie, and strangle her.

 

Jen: WHY DID YOU LET ME DIE, CASSIE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

SCENE TWO, Actual Apartment

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cassie actually wakes up...

 

Cassie: Aghh!!!!!

 

No one else is home... Jen must've left to fight crime.

 

Cassie: Yup, that's more like it.

 

Cassie gets out of bed, and goes to the couch... She finds a note...

 

Cassie: What's this?

 

The note reads "Out to fight Beefcake, need backup! ~Arcane"

 

Cassie: Huh.

 

SCENE THREE, Street of Halifax

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Beefcake robs a grocery store in Halifax, then runs into the street to get away!

 

Beefcake: Heh heh heh!!! No one can stop me now!

 

Arcane: You sure about that?

 

Beefcake: Eh?!

 

Arcane flies towards him with two large eagle wings, and kicks him in the face with a large bear foot!

 

Arcane: Take that!

 

Beefcake pounds his fist against the ground...

 

Beefcake: Is that the best you can do?!!!

 

Mystic flies in...

 

Mystic: Oh, WE can do much better!

 

Arcane: Ha ha! Hell yeah!

 

Mystic turns invisible, and Arcane stretches her arm at Beefcake and punches him in the face!

 

Beefcake: Ouch! Hey, where the hell did you're friend go?!

 

Mystic: Over here!

 

Mystic appears visible again, but behind Beefcake, and punches him in the back of the head, knocking him on the ground!

 

Beefcake: Ach!!!

 

Arcane: Hey, you look a little thirsty!

 

Arcane turns her hand into a coffee pot again, and pours the coffee on top of Beefcake!

 

Beefcake: Aghhh!!!!

 

Mystic gets out her phone, and calls a police officer...

 

Mystic: Ey, Jerold! Beefcake's on Ditko Lane.

 

Cop on phone: On our way!

 

SCENE THREE, On Way Home

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cassie and Jen walk back to the apartment...

 

Cassie: Hey, why didn't you just send me a text message?

 

Jen: I had to sell my phone, only way I could afford the earpiece.

 

Cassie: Really? How expensive was it?

 

Jen: ...You're brain would explode if I told you.

 

Cassie: I spent $5,000 on a bucket once.

 

Jen: What in the world?!! Case, the earpiece was $1,500, why would you spend that much on a bucket?!

 

Cassie: I like buckets. Also, what can that earpiece do that it's that expensive?

 

Jen: Watch.

 

Jen takes the earpiece out and presses a button, which creates an exact hologram of herself!

 

Jen: Pretty cool, right? Works a lot for stopping crime, actually.

 

Cassie: ...Okay that is really cool, but my bucket is cooler.

 

Jen snickers.

 

SCENE FOUR, Apartment, later

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cassie and Jen sit in the apartment... The phone rings...

 

Cassie: I'll get it!

 

Jen: 'Kay!

 

Cassie answers the phone...

 

Cassie: Hello?

 

A deep, edited voice answers...

 

???: Hello. This is your greatest enemy.

 

Cassie covers the phone and her mouth, so Jen doesn't hear.

 

Cassie: ...Zapper?

 

???: Bingo. And my name's Volta- N-Never mind, the point is, we're getting the team back together.

 

Cassie: You mean the group that almost killed me?!

 

Jen looks over at Cassie...

 

Jen: What's going on?

 

Cassie, covering phone: Nothing!

 

Voltage: Yes. But this time we will kill you, and your sidekick Arcane. And it'll be bigger, better, and stronger.

 

Cassie: Why are you telling me this?

 

Voltage: Because I didn't want this to be to easy... And this way I get to watch you suffer. But we'll meet you in 5 days in the park by Lee Ave. Bye, super.

 

Voltage hangs up... Cassie puts the phone down.

 

Cassie: ...Hey, Jen?

 

Jen: Mhm?

 

Cassie: ...How many heroes do you know?

 

Jen: Uh... Why?

 

Cassie: ...Because we're about to be killed.
