SUNSET LIMITED LIVES
I heard that CSX Track Geometry Train W001-13 was making its way north on the River Sub and had quite a surprise when this car showed up in its consist. Csx 994527 was built by Budd in 1950 for Southern Pacific's Golden State Limited as SP 9020 and was one of 25 cars ordered in 06-1948 by SP for that train. Configured as a 10/6 sleeper she went on to become Amtrak "Birch Grove" 2696 then 2451. Was retired by Amtrak and sold to Tom McOwens Cincinnati Railway Company. Became PPCX 800736 and i am not sure how CSX picked her up from there. Power up front is CSX 6025 ex B&O 4125 GP40-2. Howard Kent Jr. Cornwall-On-Hudson N.Y. 05-13-2012.
