Gumiel de Izán (formerly Gumiel de Hizán[2]) is a municipality located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality had a population of 665 inhabitants.
The nucleus has been a historic-artistic complex since April 26, 2004. Interesting examples of popular architecture can be seen in its streets, apart from wine presses: houses with the ground floor and structural elements made of stone, and the upper floors made of adobe with timber frame The facades were traditionally plastered, but in recent restorations the aforementioned elements have been left exposed.
